Candidiasis or thrush is a fungal infection (mycosis) of any of the Candida species (all yeasts), of which Candida albicans is the most common. Also commonly referred to as ayeast infection, candidiasis is also technically known as candidosis, moniliasis, and oidiomycosis.

Vaginal thrush (thrush) is a type of yeast infection caused by the fungus Candida species, usually Candida albicans which can affect any woman, but for pregnant women who have a weakened immune system and among women age 50 to 30 is more common. Generally it is recurring. Naturally Candida albicans exists in the vagina. Woman will not notice as long as it does not multiply. However, it may sometimes increase to the point that it causes inflammation of the vagina and of the womb.
